Nationally recognized safety program Camp bandage, is a FREE local event that teaches children and adults how to both prevent accidents and also how to treat emergency injuries until professional help arrives on the scene. In it’s 3rd year since it’s revival, Camp Bandage has taught thousands of people the importance of safety, accident prevention and treatment. It is a one day event that will be held on May 21th rain or shine from 10am until 3pm in Broken Arrow, OK on the campus of Immanuel Lutheran Church located at 400 N. Aspen in Broken Arrow, OK.
There will be demonstrations by public safety and health professionals. Broken Arrow police and fire departments will participate in a staged motor vehicle collision with “injuries”. Life Flight will be on call. At each of the “emergency” situations you’ll be shown step-by-step how to care for victims until emergency help arrives.

ABOUT CAMP BANDAGE: Created and operated by the late Dr. A.L. Gerner and his wife Shirley, Camp Bandage was held for 20 years at their ranch home in far southeast Broken Arrow. After their deaths, the event was held one more year before it ended. Now it’s being brought back by a family of friends, including Immanuel Lutheran Church. It will feature a variety of demonstrations on preventing accidents and injuries, as well as treating injuries until professional help arrives. Broken Arrow Police and Fire department personnel will assist in staging a mock automobile collision with injuries.
